Basic Rider Course – $200

The best option for any new rider who has decided to ride a motorcycle, or returning riders after a long absence. It provides five hours of classroom instruction and up to ten hours of hands-on riding exercises in a positive and safe environment. Motorcycles and helmets are provided for your use during the course. Class size is limited so that each student gets as much attention from our instructors as possible. We offer a variety of schedules running weekly from March through October.

Pre-requisites:

  • Ability to balance and ride a bicycle
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license or learner’s permit

What to expect:

In the classroom you’ll learn about the layout and operation of the basic controls, basic motorcycle skills and participate in fun and educational activities focusing on strategies, traffic situations, and how to become a safer, more responsible rider. On the riding range, your MSF-certified RiderCoach will guide you through the fundamentals and gradually move through more advanced road skills and strategies.

What to Bring:

  • Full-fingered gloves, preferably leather, must fully cover hand and fingers.
  • Eye protection such as eyeglasses, sunglasses, safety glasses, goggles or a full-face helmet.
  • A long sleeve shirt or jacket.
  • Sturdy full-length pants, like blue-jeans.
  • Shoes or boots must cover the ankle. Avoid large heels, platforms or steel-toes.
  • If you choose to bring your personal helmet it must be DOT approved.

Class size is limited to ten students for riding sessions to allow us to provide additional personal attention and coaching. If at any time a student has become a danger to themselves or others they may be asked to leave and reschedule. Fees, schedules, locations, and courses are subject to change without notice. Classes with an insufficient number of students may be rescheduled or canceled. No refunds for students who no-show, reschedule or cancel within 24hrs of class. Any rescheduling within a week of class will be assessed a $40 fee. Cancellations will be charged a $40 refund fee. No refunds within 24hrs before class starts.
